It has been quite some time since I last published anything here on my blog. I have been pretty busy with life and working on the completion of my first novel and creating a apron line. I am happy to say that I have placed my novel for pre-order on Amazon and will be released on June 7,2016. The title of my novel is Eleni’s Journey. Please take a moment to check it out, and link with me on my other sites..
I finished the back of the corset last night and finished the boning of the corset. I have posted pictures of the completed back on my sewing page. This has been such an adventure, but I can say that I am pleased with the result thus far. I should have the rest of the corset completed in the next few days. Then onto the rest of my undergarments.
As far as the writing process goes, I seem to be having a few days of writers block. Some days I am able to sit down and just write for hours upon hours. Then there are days where I seem not to be able to complete a sentence. When that happens for me I find the most reasonable thing to do is to walk away from the book for a time, find my motivation and come back to it later. That seems to work well for me most of the time.
I have to admit I am looking forward to completing this novel, the characters and the premise has been in my brain for quite awhile, and I looking forward to sharing my thoughts with all of you!!
I have added some photos to my sewing page of a project that I just started to undertake. I am working on my first Elizabethan period gown. I have owned patterns by the wonderful Margo Anderson for some time now, but do to life and writing I haven’t found much time to start this project. After completing a bubble blanket for a good friend of mine in December I was looking for another project to take on. After some thought and looking at my cut out pattern of my corset pinned to my dress form I decided it was time to get this project underway. I have to admit I was a little nervous taking on a project of this magnitude but with some encouragement from one of my good friends who pushed me to get started (Thank You Simone!!) I started the underpinnings and proud to say that my corset should be completed in a couple more days. I have posted pictures of the progress and will continue to update as I go along. I also took a picture of the sewing pattern as well.. Margo Anderson has allot of awesome patterns, and I love the instruction manual that the patterns come with. She explains everything and makes it easier to follow along. I have to admit, I getting excited to see all these pieces come together.
If you guys have any sewing experience I would love to hear about them. What projects have you found that have challenged you ?
I know it has been a while since I last posted on my blog, but I do promise to get back into posting everyday or at least every other day. for those who will actually see this, I have a question. When looking at a book cover what does that cover have to invoke to make you want to read it? What are somethings that are eye catching? Do you get turned off by certain things? These are questions that I having right now with trying to come up with the right cover for my historical romance novel. Any ideas or feedback you guys could provide would be most helpful!!
All things have to start from some where. And this is my first post starting this blog. I may not have any views as of yet, but I know as I get myself out there to the public views will come. I am hoping that all that start to follow this blog, will find the things I enjoy as interesting. I have a love for Music, Art, Sewing, DYI projects, Cooking, Reading, and Writing. These a just a few of things that I enjoy. More to come !
